Environment and energy policy
The Santiago Sur, SLU group is directly involved in the shared effort of making the economic development of its activity (provision of accommodation services) compatible with the protection of our particular island environment, in order to provide future generations with an environment prosperous and healthy.
We believe that the implementation of environmental and energy quality practices is a key factor in adequate business management that ensures the continuity of our business in the future.
For this reason, the management of Santiago Sur, SLU has considered implementing in its facilities the UNE-EN ISO 14.001 standard - Environmental Management System, the UNE-EN ISO 50.001 standard - Energy Management System and the EMAS Regulation.
To achieve this objective we have not only configured our environment and energy policy, we have also committed to periodically reviewing our services, establishing environmental and energy objectives, verifying compliance with our policy and implementing of continuous improvement.
Aware of the importance of protecting the environment around us and reducing our energy consumption, we have developed an integrated management system that attempts to prevent the negative impacts of our activity. Thus, our activities and facilities must always be conceived from a sustainability perspective, preventing pollution and minimizing negative impacts through the sustainable use of resources, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, and protection of biodiversity and ecosystems. In addition, we are committed to ensuring the availability of the necessary resources to achieve the proposed energy objectives and goals, the acquisition of energy efficiency products and services and support for design activities that improve our energy performance.
Finally, we also acquire the commitment to comply with all legal or other requirements applicable to environmental and energy matters to the organization and the commitment to raise awareness among our staff about the principles contained in this document, which is delivered to them. .
This policy will be reviewed every year and will be adapted to the realities of the organization and the destination in which it is located.
